I feel uncomfortable with the fact that Zecora is not considered a “pony”. In the episode “The Cutie Pox”, Applejack exclaims that they “need somepony to to mix up a cure! And fast!”, to which Twilight replies: “Not some pony… some zebra!” This implies that, though they are all equines, Zecora is not considered a “pony”, which I associate with whether or not she is considered an equal (one could use counter-arguments to this point, such as how this would not make the native buffalos equal, or the fact that they have princesses, implying a monarchy and “relative equality”; but the buffalos are bovines and the political systems haven’t really been explained, only implied, so these are arguments for another confession).

Maybe it was simply an overlooked sentence and I’m making mountains out of molehills, disecting references to racial inequality in a children’s show. Regardless, I felt as though I had to get it off of my chest.

The animators had a hard time doing all the wings in this episode.

The first image shows another detatchment.

The second image shows a weird-looking pair of wings. They look very odd.

The third has a Bonbon-like pony with a blank flank.

The fourth displays a Cloud Kicker with an inner cutie mark.

Rainbow Dash has 3 ears in the fifth image.

Fluttershy has just a weird face due to the transition in the 6th image.

Just BTW: Are there others intentionally looking all the episodes frame-by-frame just to spot every animation error?

These errors and weird frames seem to happen in episodes where there are A LOT of background ponies. Take Fall Weather Friends, for example, an episode jammed packed with QUALITY, but since there were more unique ponies and less recycling (plus all of them having wings to animate), the animation problems are even worse.

I used to go through episodes repeatedly looking for errors, but I always fuck around online and don’t even rewatch the episoes unless I’m in bed (which is shortly before sunrise). Episodes in season one were loads of fun since you could tell you would run into them left and right even before going through episodes at quarter speed, so I’ve been slacking because I haven’t seen as must blatant amounts of QUALITY this season, but this episode looks like it’s going to be fun to watch in slowmo since I’m also working on capping every Derpy scene in the season and the times they appear so I might have missed a few.

Unrelated to the topic, if you don’t get some feels from this episode you are either a robot or have been lucky enough to never experience stage fright or any form of social anxiety and to that I say FUCK YOU :V

I am having way too much fun with my other two pony blogs to continue nitpicking stuff in animation. Either I’m not paying attention or there’s nothing interesting enough to post that wouldn’t just be boring griping.

If I don’t get any volunteers, then it will remain updated on the cases that I stumble upon errors by chance instead of watchful eyes (which probably means once every month and a half).
